Send Your Used School Supplies to Needy Children in Africa
Help Cape Verde Africa to Hold Annual School Supplies Drive
PROVO, Utah – March 24, 2011. Non-profit Help Cape Verde will hold their second annual school supply drive to help disadvantaged children in Tarrafal, Cape Verde this Tuesday, March 29. Last year Help Cape Verde put together 150 school supplies kits and aims for more this year. Everyone can participate and make a difference for children under the poverty line in Africa in two easy ways; you can donate your lightly used school supplies, or you can come and help collect the supplies.
“We do this supplies drive every year,” said Joshua Dance, Help Cape Verde Director. “The kids in Cape Verde don’t have much, and by donating used pencils, pencil sharpeners or notebooks you can literally change a child’s life forever.”
Help Cape Verde will be collecting lightly used pencils, pens, pencil sharpeners, notebooks, binders, folders, notebooks, and markers. The donated items will be packaged into school kits and sent to Tarrafal, Cape Verde.
“Many children in Cape Verde receive a poor education because of their limited resources,” said John Campbell Help Cape Verde CFO. “Simple things like pencils and paper can be expensive for a family or a single mother. There is a really great feeling associated with collecting school supplies and getting them over to Cape Verde. Promoting a child’s education is one of the greatest things person can do.”
Bring your supplies, yourself or both to 766 East 750 North #2 in Provo at 7 pm sharp on Tuesday, March 29.
